Malad Residents Flock to Meditation Classes as July Demand Surges
Malad residents are signing up for in-person sessions and guided apps as demand rises at neighbourhood centres this July.
How we reported this

Malad West studios reported a 30 percent jump in new enrolments for July meditation courses compared with the same period last year.
City data released last month by the Malad Wellness Network showed that one in five adults now lists mindfulness practice among their weekly routines, driven by longer commutes along the Western Express Highway and irregular work hours in the nearby Mindspace IT parks.
Venues running regular sessions
The Quiet Space on Link Road offers weekday evening sits at 7 pm, with a drop-in fee of ₹400 and a monthly pass priced at ₹2,200; classes take place in a converted ground-floor hall that holds up to 25 people. Two blocks east, the Malad Zen Center near Infiniti Mall runs a free community group every Saturday morning at 8 am on the second-floor terrace, where participants bring their own mats and join a 45-minute guided practice followed by tea.
Both locations began their current schedules on 1 July and have already filled half their slots for the coming fortnight.
Apps locals combine with classes
Many participants pair the in-person work with the Insight Timer app, which lists 12 Malad-specific groups that meet virtually on Tuesday evenings; the basic version remains free while premium access costs ₹299 a month. Trainers at The Quiet Space recommend starting with the app’s five-minute daily tracks before attending longer studio sessions.
Residents who want to test a class can reserve a spot through either venue’s website or by calling the front desk before 5 pm on weekdays; those who prefer phone guidance can also join the Malad Wellness Network’s recorded hotline sessions that run at 6 am each morning.
