Borivali Families Discover Top Weekend Activities for Kids This July

Borivali families are booking spots for guided park walks and library sessions starting this weekend of July 12, 2026.

Schools in the area extended their summer break through mid-July, leaving parents to fill daytime hours with nearby programs instead of longer drives across Mumbai. The shift keeps children engaged without crossing into heavy monsoon traffic on the Western Express Highway.

Two venues stand out for the coming days. Sanjay Gandhi National Park opens its Borivali gate on S.V. Road each morning at 7:30 for family trails that last about ninety minutes. The Borivali Public Library on the same road runs free storytelling hours every Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon in its main reading room.

Park and trail choices

Park staff added extra morning slots after 800 families used the Borivali entrance last Saturday. Adult entry costs 50 rupees and children under twelve enter free, with the same rates posted on the board at the gate. Families can rent binoculars for an extra 20 rupees to spot birds along the lower trail.

Library and indoor sessions

The library added a second craft table this month after counting 450 children at its June events. Sessions use local paper and markers supplied by the Borivali Municipal Corporation. Parents must sign up at the front desk before 10 a.m. on the day of the program.

Residents who want to attend should arrive early at either site, carry rain covers for the short walk from the Borivali railway station, and confirm timings on the BMC notice board posted outside each venue.
