Households in the Borivali East and Borivali West sections will continue to pay the same per-kilolitre rate that applied in the 2025-26 year. A family using the ward average of 15,000 litres per month will therefore face the same Rs 450 water charge each billing cycle rather than the Rs 486 amount listed in the earlier schedule.
Next steps for residents and the ward office
The corporation will issue revised bills reflecting the unchanged rates beginning with the August 2026 cycle. Property owners who have already paid the higher amount in advance will receive credits applied to their next statement, according to the finance section circular released on 7 July. The freeze remains in place until 30 June 2027, after which the corporation will review consumption data and cost figures before setting the 2027-28 tariff.
Payment offices at the Borivali ward headquarters and the two sub-centres will accept revised standing instructions from account holders who use auto-debit. Residents can also submit updated bank details through the online portal until 25 July 2026 to ensure the correct amount is drawn each month.
