Allocation Breakdown and Resident Effects
Budget documents list 28 crore rupees for asphalt overlay on four station-adjacent roads, 12 crore for drainage upgrades, and 5 crore for lighting at the nearby bus depot. Corporation engineers estimate the road works will cover 4.2 kilometres serving an estimated 18,000 daily commuters who walk from the station to local offices and shops.
The remaining funds stay within the same central wards, leaving the western extension areas with no new capital projects until the next budget cycle in 2027. Local ward offices have confirmed that routine pothole repairs will continue in those zones but at the previous year's funding level of approximately 3 crore rupees.
Implementation begins with tender publication on August 15, with construction scheduled to start after the monsoon season ends in September. Corporation officials have stated that progress reports will be published monthly on the civic website once contracts are awarded.
