In the R Central ward a total of 54 buildings have been declared dilapidated and dangerous. Of these 33 have already been demolished while three more face demolition after Diwali. Air quality readings of 95 in the satisfactory category and 125 in the moderate category allowed the BMC to end the construction ban in Borivali East and Byculla. The Maharashtra state government approved an integrated affordable housing township on 28 acres in Borivali West covering Shimpoli and Gorai.
